The Council of the Moroccan Community living Abroad (CCME) organized Sunday, February 10, 2019 a round table on the plurality on the language creativity of the o Moroccan writers living abroad. Participated to this round table : Ms Nadia Dala (Belgium), Ms Esther Bendahan (Spain), Ms Intissar Haddiya (Morocco), Mr Kamal Benkirane (Canada), and Majid Blal (Canada). The meeting was moderated by Mina Rhouch, a CCME member.

Ahmiane Mohamed: Professor of Contemporary History at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Mohammed Premier University, Oujda, and member of the Moroccan Association for Historical Research. He has participated in numerous conferences and national and international meetings, and has published articles and studies in peer-reviewed scientific journals, both in Morocco and abroad.

The Agora meetings

« The culture of origin in the writings of the Moroccans living abroad »

The meeting will notably try to deepen the discussion about culture but also its contradictions and its impact on the improvement of the different cultural areas. The Participants are : the writer Mohamed Ahroba (Germany),the novelist and writer Rachid Santaki (France), Mr. Dahiri Mohamed, professor and writer (Spain), the French-Moroccan writer Hamisultane Maï-Do, and the writer and journalist Maati Kabbal.

The second part of the evening, will deal with « the Moroccan culture in Africa and in the Arab world » . The participants : Mr Driss El Ganbouri, Mr Ismail Regragui Ould Dahah and Mr Sidi Mohamed el Farsi who will discuss the millennial relationship between the Kingdom and the Arab and African world.

Success stories of Moroccans living abroad

The second meeting of the day dealt with the theme success stories of moroccans who achieved their dreams. Every participant recounted his pathway to success.

The first round table of the CCME, was introduced by Mr Mustapha El Mourabit who said that thanks to their cultural legacy, the Moroccans living aboad, are creative, inspiring and known for their openness. He gave Spain as the most telling example, a country where the Moroccan community is part of Spain’s history.

The prime minister, Mr Saad Eddine el Othman, opened the 25th edition of the Internatioal book fair ( SIEL) the 7th February 2019, held in Casablanca under the High Patronage of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI.

The CCME inaugurates its participation in this 25th edition of the International Book and Publishing Fair with the "Agora's Meetings".

This inaugural meeting, whose topic is: "Moroccan culture beyond borders: realities and challenges", will try to understand the foreign cultural actor's view on the Moroccan culture in some countries of residence, through an institutional debate on the reality and prospects of Moroccan culture beyond borders. The attendants will try to examine how to develop the cultural production of the Moroccans living abroad, and strengthen Morocco's receptiveness to their cultural productions.

The round table will bring together Mr. Abdellah Boussouf (Secretary General of CCME), Mr Mohamed El Araj (Moroccan Minister of Culture and Communication) and Mr Pedro Martinez Avial (Director General of Casa Arabe in Madrid) will be moderated by Mr.Mustapha El Mourabit (CCME)

The second meeting of the day entitled "Pathways" will deal with the topic « success stories of Moroccans around the world » and analyze some unique experiences achieved in the countries where they live. 

The roundtable brings together Ms. Hanane Benkhallouk, Mr. Paul Dahan, Mr Noureddine Fatty, Mr Rachid Hanbali and will be moderated by Ms. Ghita Zine.

A meeting with a Beligian Delegation was held at the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), wednesday, February 6, 2019. The group was led by Mr. Rudi Vervoort, Minister President of the Brussels-Capital Region.

The Council of the Moroccan Community living Abroad (CCME) takes part to the 25th edition of the Casablanca, International Book Fair (SIEL), from February 8 to 17, 2019. "The Moroccan culture beyond borders"is the theme chosen by the council for this edition.
