Mr. Abdellah Boussouf, Secretary General of the Council of the Moroccan Community living Abroad (CCME), received Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Council in Rabat, Mr. Khalid Mahmood, member of the British Parliament (Labor Party) and Mr Perry Barr of the constituency (Birmingham). Several issues related to the Moroccan and Muslim community in Britain have been discussed.
Ms Souad Talsi, member of the CCME in the UK and Mrs. Elaina Cohen, counselor of the British MP, both attended the meeting which ended with the signing of a “memorandum of Understanding to take Moroccan-British youth for a voluntary internship in the House of Commons”.
The purpose of the memorandum is to give the possibility to the young trainees to take part in working sessions with the teams of members of Parliament and understand how their representatives work.
This is the first time, that young British Moroccans will experience the importance of political commitment in a multicultural society.
