The Forum for the promotion of peace in Muslim societies was launched , Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in Abu Dhabi. Cheikh Ben Biya encourages the American caravan for peace to visit Morocco

In his speech, the president of the Forum for the promotion of peace in Muslim societies, Sheikh Abdullah bin Biya congratulated the caravan of religious leaders of the United States, from the Ibrahimie family, who “embodies the hope of brotherhood and promote these values in their societies. ”

Cheikh Ben Biya recalled in his speech the outline of the Marrakech Declaration, seen as a call of living together and dialogue between cultures and religions. He added  that it establishes a new step  to build a community of living together guiding the worshipers for research in religious texts in their history and heritage to ensure tolerance and  living- together. ”

The president of the forum appealed the participants of the caravan to visit the Kingdom of Morocco, after their stay in the United Arab Emirates, and meet afterwards in Washington to bolster peace and tolerance between religions.

Mr. Boussouf: migration builds the living-together and helps humanity

Mr. Abdellah Boussouf, historian and Secretary General of the Council of the Moroccan Community living Abroad (CCME) who was the Kingdom’s representative, congratulated the organizers for this initiative, which came into being during  the “Marrakech Declaration on Religious Minorities Rights in the Islamic World” and the call to action “organized in the moroccan city by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, in partnership with the Forum for the promotion of peace in Muslim societies, in January, 2016.

Mr. Boussouf, in this context, recalled the royal speech of 20 August 2016 that resonated in the public scientific, intellectual, political, cultural and artistic spheres, when His Majesty has clearly argued that “the terrorists who act on behalf of Islam are not Muslims and have no link with Islam as alibis, which they rely to justify their crimes and insanity and that” ignorance leads them to believe that their actions fall within the Jihad”…

Mr. Boussouf said  that His Majesty the King, Commander of the Faithful, invited Jews, Muslims and Christians to preserve human civilization and ensure its viability.

He continued by saying “the world needs  Muslims, Jews and Christians to remain united, because the dangers we face are difficult to defeat . And that concerns notably climate change but even  more devastating threats to humanity, such as wars and terrorism. Mr Boussouf invited the monotheistic religions to organize a common front against these dangers.

Furthermore, the Secretary General of the CCME said that migration is an essential component to know and dialogue with the other.

Mr. Boussouf finally highlighted the achievements of former migrants and Moroccan travelers like Ibn Battuta, who reached China but wasn’t known at his time. He also added the importance of his role in a better knowing of churches and Copts practices in Morocco. The Kingdom’s representative  also cited the example of Hassan Ben Mohammed Ouazzani, who taught Arabic at the Vatican and Moroccan travelers who traveled to Al-Quds, in Mekkah and Medina to practice their religion, and  meet other cultures and religions.
