The CCME celebrates the National Day of Migrants in Kenitra

Tuesday, 11 August 2015

For the celebration of the National Day of the Migrant August 10, 2015 at the Wilaya of Kenitra, the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) was represented by Mr. Abdelhamid EL JAMRI Council member and Chairman of the Working Group "Administration rights of users and Public Policy."

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Jamri said that the day of the Migrant is not only an opportunity to pay tribute to migrants, but above all to recognize their role in the economic, social and political development of their host and country of origin.

Mr. Jamri drew a parallel between the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) and the role of migrants in human development. Mr. Jamri revealed that migrants invest nearly 50 billion dirhams a year in the education of family members, health, business creation and access to basic services in villages (Water, electricity, roads ...).

He called for building relationships between the NHRI and the action of migrants in this area.

The commemoration of this year, said Mr. EL JAMRI, was preceded by the Royal Throne Speech which confirmed forcefully the interest of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in the Moroccan Community Abroad.

This speech showed that during his visits abroad, HM the King had not only the diplomatic agenda and cooperation on his mind, but also that of the Moroccan community abroad.

Mr. El Jamri also welcomed the work done by the different actors in charge of the migration issue and called for better coordination to provide Morocco with a comprehensive and integrated migration policy and make efficient, the various services provided to migrants , whether inside or outside the country.

The CCME leads an important thought process in terms of consultation and study by providing input on various current issues of migration Mr. Jamri said. Contributions made available to institutional and non state actors.
