A scientific meeting at the University of Agadir on research and migration

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Ibn Zuhr University of AgadirIn in partnership with the Council for the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), hosted on 12 and 13 May 2016, the fourth scientific meeting under the theme "the tools and methods of geographical analysis."

This meeting was organized by the research laboratory: Geography, Planning, Demography, Development (GEAMDD) in coordination with the Laboratory of Studies on Migration, Anthropology, Companies Spaces (LEMASE) University Ibn Zuhr.On behalf of Mr. Abdellah Boussouf, the secretary general of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), Mr. Ahmed Siraj framed a meeting with several professors and research students on scientific research and Moroccan immigration abroad. He referred to the important  changes of the  Moroccan immigration over the generations.
"Moroccans of the world, are known for their deep attachment to their Moroccan identity, which is not a reality in for other groups of immigrant. He added that they constitute a diverse diaspora which has expertise in all areas around the world," Mr Siraj further stated,  that "the national institutions dealing with the Moroccans living abroad have grown to be closer to the priorities of the latter". 
After these presentations, the questions of the debate concerned mainly scientific research in the field of immigration, identity and worship, integration and modernity, Moroccans of the world and national sovereignty.
At this meeting, works of the latest and the most important tools for scientific analysis used in the study of geographical phenomena were presented. The CCME has for its part exposed the  "Atlas Moroccans of the world" and calligraphy works containing extracts of royal discourse on immigration and immigrants, as well as publications on migration issues.
