Settat : The CCME participates to the annual research meeting of the University Hassan the First

The Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) participated on  Monday, May 23, 2016 in Settat, in the sixth annual meeting : » "Development of research in Humanities and Social Sciences "of Hassan the 1st University.

During the opening of the meeting, Mr. Ahmed Siraj, presented, in charge of the CCME, the Council missions and its achievements and said  how important " scientific research for the CCME and the reasons who lead the different partnerships involving the CCME and several Moroccan and foreign universities ".

Mr. Siraj also stressed the importance of  the Moroccans living abroad  are because  "they live in democratic, secular, multicultural societies and at the same timebenefit from a rich heritage of Moroccan cultural and ritual diversity: African, Arab, Amazigh, Muslim, Jewish, Christian , Mediterranean  said " Mr. Siraj.

Referring to the duty to preserve the memory of immigration, as part of the national history, Mr. Siraj explained the different steps of Moroccan migration and important changes. "In the 60s, Moroccan immigration, mainly in Europe, was summed up in the labor agreements with the prospect of a return to Morocco," he said, asserting that "these workers have remained in host countries and brought their families to thei host countries .  He added "we witnessed the birth of a 2nd, 3rd and 4th in some countries of Moroccans, with new features : younger, more feminized ». He explained that nearly 5 million Moroccans are now living abroad in more than 50 countries around the world. "

The sixth annual meeting of the Research assembled several researchers and experts in human and social sciences, and this year celebrated the official opening of the  House Science of  « Human » (MSH-UH1) by Jamila El Moussalli, Minister delegate to the Minister of higher Education, scientific Research and executive Education.
