Mr. Boussouf: Art is an extraordinary tool of tolerance and living together

The Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) inaugurated, Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the gallery Bab Rouah in Rabat, the exhibition  "The Art of Tolerance". An event that  brings together the works, in connection with tolerance, and  hope,  of more than 20 artists

In his opening speech, Mr. Abdellah Boussouf, General Secretary of the CCME, said how thankful he was  to the artists who "responded to the invitation of the Council, and by that demonstrated their commitment to the values ​​of peace and dialogue. "

Mr. Boussouf added that "through their works, artists have the ability to keep tolerance in live and counter  hatred "adding that" the will of the CCME is that this initiative leads to unite artists in the fight against terrorism and extremism. " The family of the late photographer Leila Alaoui, who died in the attacks in January 2016 in Ouagadougou was present  during the exhibition.

The secretary general of the CCME also said :"We decided to organize this exhibition during the holy month of Ramadan because we wanted to say that Islam is a religion of life, tolerance and peace and not a religion of death and terror".

Mr. Boussouf addded that "the CCME chose Morocco as the first step of this exhibition because Morocco is historically a multicultural country, a land of dialogue and sharing. "

"The idea of ​​organizing this exhibition has arisen after the terrorist attacks  of Paris, Brussels and Ouagadougou, « awarded » to young Europeans of Moroccan origin. The goal is to prove that the Moroccan condemnes these actions ».

Several personalities and cutural actors assisted to the opening of the exhibition "Art of Tolerance" 

After Morocco, the exhibition will be shown in every continent and  cities around the world.
