In his opening speech, Mr. Omar Halli President of the Ibn Zohr University , praised the CCME for its continuing interest in research on migration, which led to the joint application of the study. He has, in this sense, invited student researchers to carry the flambeau of scientific research related to Moroccans living abroad. He further added that  the university Ibn Zohr of Agadir was eager to  cooperate on activities, by particularly encouraging students to work on that precise subject.  The round table was moderated by MM. Aziz Rifki, CCME Project Manager and Khalid Alayoud, Researcher at the  Faculty of humanities of Agadir. 

Mr. Ahmed Ezzahidi, Vice-President of the Regional Council of Souss-Massa, assured for his part, that the Moroccans living abroad are crucial in the development of this region. He pursued, « the Council has a comprehensive and integrated approach in dealing with the issue of Moroccans living abroad from the region of Souss-Massa, through programs for regional development. This meeting is, according to him, an opportunity to apprehend the new issues of the migratory question, especially the return of migrants to their region and country of origin.

Mr. Abdellatif Maroufi, from the CCME, said in an intervention on behalf of the Council that "our institution gives a particular importance to the region of Soues-Massa since it was the first region -exporting- migration". Reason why, the various activities undertaken by the CCME such as its contribution to the Agadir Film and Migration Festival and the outcome of the first convention for scientific research with the Ibn Zohr University, which gave birth to the establishment of  a university course on migration and the Moroccans of the world », in addition to the achievement of an atlas of the Morccans living abroad MDM.
