HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa Chairs Opening of 26th International Book and Publishing Exhibition in Casablanca

Casablanca - HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa chaired, on Thursday in Casablanca, the opening of the 26th edition of the International Book and Publishing Exhibition (SIEL), held under the High patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.

HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa, accompanied by minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, government spokesperson, Hassan Abyaba, and commissioner of the exhibition, Latifa Moftaqir, visited the stands of the department of Culture, the ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and the royal Institute of Amazigh culture.

Her Royal Highness then visited the stand of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, guest of honor of this edition, in recognition of the strong and long-standing ties between the two countries.

HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa also visited the stands of the southern provinces development Agency, the ministry of Justice, the Kingdom's ombudsman Institution, the office of the public prosecutor, Bayt Mal Al-Quds, and the ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research.

In addition, HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa visited the stands of the Cervantes Institute, the French Institute, the United States, People and Tangel Publishing House (China), the cultural annex of the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Council of the Moroccan community abroad (CCME), the national Human Rights Council, Hassan II University in Casablanca, publishing houses "Edit Consulting", specializing in children's books, and "La Croisée des chemins".

Organized by the ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the 26th edition of SIEL, which runs until 16 February, will be attended by 703 exhibitors from Morocco, Africa, Europe, Asia and America, who will present a rich and varied collection of documents covering several fields of knowledge, with more than 100,000 works.

Upon her arrival at the exhibition site, HRH princess Lalla Hasnaa reviewed a detachment of the auxiliary Forces that made the honors, and was notably greeted by the minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, spokesperson for the government, the secretary general of the Mauritanian minister of Culture, Crafts and Relations with the Parliament Ahmed Ould Abba Ould Said Ahmed, Palestinian minister of Culture Atif Abu Syf, chargé d'affaires at the embassy of Mauritania in Rabat, Mohamed Mouloud Mohamed Salim and president of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Sheikha May bint Mohammed bin Khalifa.
