The Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) is supporting the 1st High Level Forum on Artificial Intelligence on the theme “Artificial Intelligence as a lever for development in Africa”, which commenced on Monday 3 June in Rabat at the campus of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in (Rabat UM6P).
Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the three-day international symposium is organised by the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University via its Moroccan International Centre of Artificial Intelligence "AI Movement" in partnership with UNESCO. Representatives from over 30 countries are taking part in the event, including some 15 African countries, with the aim of laying the foundations for an African strategy dedicated to AI.
This event's goal is to set the course for a strategy dedicated to AI in Africa. The event will bring together world leaders, technology experts, political decision-makers and representatives of civil society to discuss the latest advances in AI in Morocco and the rest of Africa.
The forum will be highlighted by the formal launching of the first Category II AI Centre in Africa in Rabat, under the aegis of UNESCO, which represents a major step forward in integrating AI into development strategies on the continent.
