UAE: The CCME participates to the Sharjah International Book Fair

Morocco is the guest of honour at the 43rd edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair, which will be held from 6 to 17 November 2024 at the Sharjah Expo Centre in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Moroccan pavilion has been designed as a Moroccan House, presenting the most significant features of Moroccan Architecture and rich heritage "and a portrait of Moroccan modernity that continues to evolve. The Moroccan cultural programme will include the participation of about 100 Moroccan writers, authors, publishers, intellectuals and artists.

The programme of the Moroccan presence in this edition includes round tables for discussion and exchange of experiences involving speakers from different disciplines, encounters with poets and writers, the presentation by 25 Moroccan publishing houses and writers covering all fields of knowledge and creative production, in addition to Moroccan calligraphy workshops, cooking workshops, musical performances including a number of Moroccan musical colours and a children's programme.

The President of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), Driss El Yazami, will be participating in a seminar entitled "Managing Cultural Diversity and Multilingualism: The Moroccan Model', alongside the Dean of the Royal Institute for Amazigh Culture, Ahmed Bocuse, Ibrahim El-Hussein, researcher specialised in Hassaniya culture, writer and critic Abdelfattah El-Hajmari, and Omar Halli, advisor to the ISESCO Director General for the Union of Universities of the Islamic World, on Saturday, 9 November in the Moroccan gallery.
