The pavilion of the CCME hosted a literary conference on Moroccan immigration in Belgium, to which Taha Adnan, Belgian-Moroccan poet Jamila Ben Azzouz, a clinical psychologist in Belgium were invited while Samira El Ayachi, French-Moroccan writer who moderate the meeting.
The idea of writing this book came to him after realizing that nothing written in Arabic was ever dedicated to the city of Brussels in contrast to major world cities like Paris and London. He decided to take the step by publishing this book involving other authors, including the moderator of the meeting Samira El Ayachi.
“I wanted to break this negative image that the Belgian have on Moroccan immigrants which doesn’t represent the whole of this community,” she also evoked the malaise in which some of the youth are entangled, torn between his identity as a origin and the values of Western society
For this book, she wants to highlight these Belgian-Moroccans who were able to adapt and meet the challenge of coexistence.
