This is a first in Belgium: an Islamic high school will open its doors in Schaerbeek, Brussels region.
Located in an area with a large Muslim population, the school “Virtue” is a free school, funded by the Federation Wallonia-Brussels just like the free Catholic, Jewish or non- confessional schools.
The secondary section will open initially 120 seats for 1st and 2nd year students but eventually it plans to organize three levels of study, a general transition from education to the 2nd and 3rd degrees and accommodate 660 students. More than 90 students have already registered.
