The Canadian Chamber Orchestra “Les Violons du Roy” and “The OKTOECHO Ensemble”, held the concert “Ropes of Tolerance” on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at the Notre-Dame de Lourdes Church in Casablanca. The first performance in Rabat, was held 6 november 2017, day of the celebration of the Green March in Rabat.
In his opening speech Mr. Abdellah Boussouf, Secretary General of the Council of the Moroccan Community living Abroad (CCME), said that holding this concert in the church of Casablanca confirms Morocco’s devotion to its history where respect and freedom of worship are the essence of its multicultural being.
The delegate of the canadian Embassy in Morocco welcomed the holding of this cultural event and appealed to strengthen cooperation between Canada and Morocco.
The “Ropes of Tolerance” concerts are organized by the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) an partnership with the « Canada Council for the Arts » and the Association of « Friends of the Museum of Moroccan Judaism ».
