With support from the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), the Farhat Doukkala troupe guided by the Moroccan choreographer Lahcen Zinoun will be having this upcoming Sunday January 25, a showcase in Amsterdam.
Without distorting the art rooted in traditional Moroccan culture, the choreographer staged the sheikhs and Aouinates of Doukkala. Everything is carefully studied: male artists who seem to constantly back and forth between shadow and light, and women dressed in colorful kaftans which, in turn, appear in the light and blend into the shadows.
Their inaugural show took place in April 2013 at the Mohammed VI Theatre in Casablanca.
