Fouad Bellamine is a prominent figure in Morocco’s artistic and cultural scene. A graduate of the École des Arts Appliqués in Casablanca (1970), he moved to Rabat, where he began teaching visual arts.
Gaining recognition for his participation in the Paris Biennale (1982), he was awarded a French scholarship to reside at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (1983). During this time, he pursued advanced studies at Paris VIII University, earning a DEA in Art History and Theory and working on a thesis titled “The Concept of Murality in Contemporary Painting.” He also lectured at the university between 1986 and 1988.
This period marked Fouad’s entry onto the international art scene through solo exhibitions and connections with art professionals. Since then, he has lived and worked between Rabat and Paris. From 1990, he served as a professor-trainer at the Rabat Teacher Training Center, teaching art history and visual expression, maintaining a close relationship with new generations of artists.
Since his first exhibition in Rabat (1972), Fouad Bellamine has continued to exhibit both in Morocco and internationally. His works are part of museum collections and private collections worldwide.
