The Kingdom of Morocco commemorates this 18 november 2016,  the Revolution of the King and the People, the day Morocco gained its independence from France in 1956.

On November 16, 1955, HM King Mohammed V who had the complete and indefectible support of the moroccan population, returned to Morocco after his forced exile, by the French occupation forces, to Madagascar.

After the forced exile of HM Mohammed V, the Moroccan Nationalists  began revolting on the streets of the country and forced the French government to step back.  

HM King Mohammed V returned to Morocco and gained proudly Morocco’s Independence on 18 november 1956.

France had claimed Morocco as a French protectorate since 1912.
