The Belgian centre ‘Play4Peace’ is organising its first forum in Morocco on 6 April 2025 at the Hiba Foundation in Rabat, to celebrate the International Day for Sport for Development and Peace, which is held each year to promote and celebrate the benefits of sport as a catalyst for intercultural dialogue and social cohesion. The forum’s theme is ‘Sport and culture as a lever for the personal and professional Development of youth’.
Organised in partnership with the Council for the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), the event includes two scientific seminars the first being entitled ‘Investing in culture and sport today is preparing for the future’, with the participation of Driss El Yazami, president of the CCME, Anne-Catherine Chevalier, Director of the Bernheim Foundation, Ayman Ramadani, Founding Chairman of Play4Peace, Adrien de Bassompierre, Director of the European Investment Bank-Morocco, and Hassan Fakkak, Technical Director of the National Olympic Committee.
The second panel discussion, on the theme of ‘Sport and culture as a lever for socio-economic development in the East’, will be attended by Jalil Bennis, Managing Director of the “Société de développement de Saïdia”, Hakim Boulouiz, Head of the National School of Architecture in Oujda, Walid Chourak, Project Manager at Enable-Maroc, Adnan Lahlou, Advisor to the General Delegation of the French-speaking Walloons in Brussels, and Ayman Ramdani, President and Founder of Play4Peace.
The purpose of the forum, which is part of the ‘New Integrated Vision for the Development of Moroccan Youth’ is to promote cooperation in the fields of sport and culture between Belgium and Morocco, as well as create a bridge between Belgium and Morocco in terms of sport and culture, in order to encourage the development of young talent.
The forum will bring together leading players in the areas of development, particularly in sports, culture, training and education. It also aims to create a strategic network of partners with an interest in sport and culture as a lever for youth development.
