Named by Les Inrocks as one of the ten next-generation poets to follow on social media, Rim Battal has been described by Vogue as “one of the most powerful voices in young Francophone poetry.” After studying journalism at the Institut Supérieur de l’Information et de la Communication in Rabat and the École Supérieure de Journalisme in Paris, she now dedicates herself to writing, blending poetry, prose, and visual arts in her performances.

Her eighth poetry collection, x et excès, was published on February 8 by Le Castor Astral. It follows previous works, including L’eau du bain (Éditions Supernova, 2019), Les quatrains de l’All inclusive (Le Castor Astral, 2021), and Mine de rien (Le Castor Astral, 2022). Born in Casablanca, Rim Battal lives and works between Marrakech and Paris.
