A total of 650 Moroccan students study in different universities in Romania, majors including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, engineering and construction.
The situation of these students was the subject of a series of meetings between the Ambassador of Morocco in Romania, Ms. El Faouz Achchabi and rectors of Romanian universities.
The ambassador, accompanied by Mr. Moncef Hammi, Counselor for Consular Affairs, held on April 9th a series of working meetings with Johan Neuner, rector of Bucharest Construction Technical University, Mr Alexandru Alden, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in Foreign Languages, Ms. Daniela Preda, Dean of the Faculty of steel construction, Mr. Laurentiu Rece, Secretary General to the university, professors, as well as Moroccan students furthering their education in this university.
Neuner welcomed on this occasion, the close links between the university and the Embassy of Morocco and the other Moroccan universities and thanked the mission for its availability, its proximity especially towards Moroccan students.
Ms. El Achchabi stressed, meanwhile, the excellent cooperative relations in the cultural and academic field between Morocco and Romania, adding that the Kingdom has a special interest in the exchange of experiences between Rabat and Bucharest particularly in the area of scientific research.
She, by the way, recalled the working visit to Romania in March 2014 by the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Executive Training, Mr. Lahcen Daoudi during which he discussed with his Romanian counterpart, opportunities for cooperation between the Moroccan and Romanian universities through the exchange of visits and the creation of a research structure in the automotive, aerospace and agriculture fields.
The ambassador seized the occasion to hold a meeting with Moroccan students to discuss ways to facilitate their stay in Romania./With MAP
