Balearic Islands: Moroccans discuss their concerns in their first meeting with officials

The Spanish city of Majorca witnessed the convening of the first meeting of the Forum for Moroccans in Balearic Islands, with the participation of a number of Moroccans settled in the region who responded the organizers’ invitation who held this meeting under the theme "for the right and dignity".

The debate tackled issues of concern to the majority of the Moroccan community in the Balearic Islands with a focus on the problems associated with the areas of employment and administrative procedures in addition to social services and subsidies. It also focused on how to maintain the cultural identity and fight school wastage and problems of integration

The meeting was also an opportunity for the Moroccan community to call for both the Spanish and Moroccan institutions, to jointly take measures to resolve the constraints faced by Moroccans in the Balearic Islands.

It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by the mayor of the city of INKA, Driss Ajbali from the Council of the Moroccan community abroad( CCME), and the Consul General of Morocco in the Balearic Islands in addition to Hassan Belarbi president of the association of Moroccan intellectuals and competencies in Spain. Other representatives of political parties in Majorca were also in attendance.
