Brussels: The Crans Montana Forum set to bring closer together the religious leaders of the world

Friday, 15 May 2015

The Crans Montana Forum (CMF) will bring together next June in Brussels, the religious leaders of the world around the theme of world peace, announced the Swiss organization.

"Today more than ever, religious leaders have a major role to play in finding a new peace, based not only on tolerance but the necessary acceptance of the other," reads an official statement by the organization.

The meeting will be held during the session of the FCM to be held in the Belgian capital in association with the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (ICD) of Berlin.

In the opinion of the organizers, the diversity of perspectives, the multiplicity of religious and philosophical choices "are the real wealth of our modern societies. They should not become the cause of fractures or violence."

This meeting between religious scholars and figures is intended, according to them, to offer "a unique opportunity to assess the situation and to attempt to define a more optimistic future."

Founded in 1986, the Crans Montana Forum works to promote dialogue, international cooperation and global growth while maintaining a high level of stability, peace, equity and security.
