"Marhaba 2015": More than 37,000 MRE returned to Morocco via Bab Sebta

A total of 37,590 Moroccans living abroad (MRE) returned to Morocco via Bab Sebta from the launch of the operation "Marhaba 2015," on June 5, until the 3rd of July as was revealed by the Customs administration.

The number of Moroccans living abroad who have transited through this point was in a slight decrease of 1 per cent compared to the same period in the previous year (38,090), while the number of cars rose to 7.288 from several European countries , against 7,517 during the same period a year earlier, down 3 pc, added the same source.

As to the number of MRE who left the Kingdom through Bab Sebta since the launch of the operation "Marhaba 2015," amounted to 33,072, up 15 per cent compared to the same period of 2014 (28,565) while the number of cars rose to 7,639, against 7,941 in the same period of the previous year, down 3 pc.

In a statement to MAP news agency, the Administration of Customs at Bab Sebta said that the operation "Marhaba 2015" takes place in good conditions, thanks to the efforts of the various services deployed; the units of the customs and Safety, and the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, as well as local authorities.

The authorities took all necessary measures to ensure the success of this operation and this through the presentation of services to travelers at the administrative, medical and social levels.

The transit operation should draw large crowds during the last week of Ramadan and the beginning of August, which coincides with the holidays period in Europe.
