France's Hollande Says Will Not Seek Second Presidential Mandate

François Hollande announced on Thursday december 1st,  that he will not run for a second term in office.

"I have decided not to be a candidate in the presidential elections," Hollande said in a televised address from the Élysée Palace.

In his address, Hollande also said he felt he had achieved many changes in his time in office, including beginning to lower France's stubbornly high jobless figures after decades of mass unemployment.
