The European Council of Moroccan Ulemas (CEOM) organizes a meeting on Saturday, 25 November 2017 in Brussels ( Belgium) on "the role of the imam within the European context: amid current and future challenges". More than 150 imams from various European countries are expected to attend the conference.
The event initiated by the CEOM in diverse European capitals, points out the imam's religious importance in Europe. As well the urge to associate the imam to maintain social order and living-together, indicates the CEOM in a communiqué.
The Council also invites the imams to take up the challenges on a daily basis, to establish a register of their activity with the aim to realize a pragmatic guidance. The CEOM seeks, through this meeting, to reinforce the skills of the imams in the cohesion of European societies.
