Paris: Forum on the musical heritage of immigration

Friday, 28 November 2014

Tactikollectif in partnership with Pangaea Network and the Cabaret Sauvage, organize on December 6, an evening dedicated to the artistic heritage of immigration, and more particularly to the singers of immigration.

Inspired by the musical repertoire of the Maghreb singers of exile, the concert "Women know the song" offers to the new female scene the chance to reinterpret some of the most beautiful songs of immigration performed by women in Arabic, Kabyle or French.

Also on the program, an exhibition that offers a non-exhaustive portrait gallery of the great singers of exile occurring in France from the 1950s until the early 1970s in major Parisian theaters, Oriental cabarets or in the Algerian cafes of France.

Representatives of the North African song in France, they are the pioneers of the artistic expression of immigration, and their works of art testify to the major concerns of the first generations of immigrant women: nostalgia for the homeland, passion and its setbacks, the pangs of exile...
