Friday, 19 December 2014

Moroccan visual artist Aziza Alaoui was presented in London with the World Citizen Artists prize organized this year under the theme of peace.

The paintings of the artist are exhibited at the prestigious Belgravia Gallery in the heart of London. Born in Casablanca, Aziza chose nature as the central theme of her works. She took part in the contest with a painting entitled "Spring", explaining that world peace begins with that found in ourselves.

The contest was marked by the participation of artists from around the world, 15 of which have won awards, and their paintings are displayed from 15 December 2014 to 15 January 2015 at the prestigious Belgravia Gallery in the heart of the British capital.

In a statement to the Moroccan news agency MAP, the visual artist who lives in Mexico, said she was very happy to be among the winners of the contest organized by "The Artists World Citizen", an international organization based in London which works to strengthen the consciousness in the world through creativity. The artist was delighted with the choice of peace as the theme of this competition, “a theme close to my heart” she said, noting that in a world dominated by violence and injustice, it is absolutely necessary to generate more awareness for a better world.

Aziza Alaoui chose for her participation a painting entitled Le Printemps, which captures a moment of everyday life, a rainy day viewed from a window, where small details, atmosphere, colors, shapes, invite the viewer to perceive the sacredness of every moment, slowing the fast pace of life and plunging into contemplation.
