The Netherlands: Kickoff of the Second Edition of Maroc Expo in Nieuwegein

The Ambassador of Morocco to the Netherlands, Mr. Abdelouahab Bellouki  and Mr Driss Ajbali, a leading member of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), inaugurated this Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 in Nieuwegein (province of Utrecht) the "Maroc expo" exhibition.

More than 1000 participants took part to this event and an attendance of more than 5000 Moroccans living in the Netherlands visited the stands this weekend.

Maroc Expo highlights all the famous facets of Morocco, from fashion and lifestyle to tourism. It’s an opportunity to get to learn more about the Moroccan culture, whether it’s “through partying with famous Moroccan artists, buying your home (holiday), tasting the flavors of Moroccan cuisine, or purchasing traditional items in the bazaar” says Abdelbasset Zaghdoud, PR of the Maroc Expo event.

Indeed, the Expo featured a fashion show showcasing the traditional Kaftan as well as modern fashion designs. It also appeals to shoppers, as there is a simulation of the Djema el Fna square in Marrakesh and its traditional bazaars.

Finally, the Maroc Expo hosted a concert featuring several different types of Moroccan music, including Chaabi, Reggada, Rai and Rifia. Scheduled Performers included Daoudia, Tahour, Ahouzar, Abdelmoula, Kasba, M Bidaou, Hassan Twil, Kacem, Dj Hiba, Yahya Yousfi and Ismailia, among others. The Maroc Expo run from December 27-28 following on the success of the first Edition.
