Cairo (Map) - Moroccan barrister Abdellatif Bouachrine was elected, on Friday in Cairo, as Secretary General of the Arab Lawyers Union (ALU), during a meeting of the ALU Executive Board.
Bouachrine was elected to this position by 30 votes against 16 for Kuwaiti candidate Doukhi Al-Hasbani.
The 23rd session of the Union's General Congress started on Friday under the theme "Towards a unified Arab front to face terrorism, followership and division."
The work of this Congress, which ended Sunday continues in four commissions “Arab world and fight against terrorism”, “freedom and human rights”, “Palestine” and “professional affairs.
