France: Islamophobic acts up by 110%

According to the National Observatory against Islamophobia, “One hundred and sixteen anti-Muslim acts were recorded in France since the Paris attacks that took place between 7 to 9 January, 110% higher than those reported for the entire month of January 2014".

"These acts include 28 actions against places of worship and 88 threats," said the same instance.

The President of the Observatory denounced in a statement reported by the Huffington Post, "these acts of hatred against Muslim French who in their vast majority respect the values of the Republic and secularism."

Soldiers were assigned to monitor mosques. According to statistics, Islam is the second religion in France, with 3.5 to 5 million believers and 2300-3000 places of worship.
