At the meeting, which took place in the presence of the Honorary Consul of Morocco in Algarve, José Alberto Alegria, the Moroccan diplomat also noted that the Algarve authorities are willing to work with the Embassy to "offer the best welcome to our community. "

In order to facilitate administrative procedures, including national identity card and passport, Ms. Benyaich wished to recall that a mobile Consular unit is deployed several times throughout the year to meet the demands of Moroccans settled in this region.

The members of the Moroccan community, for their part, expressed their concerns and expectations in particular the need to create an association representative of them; a structure to serve as an interlocutor with the authorities and other partners and to organize activities for the benefit of Moroccans in the Algarve.

This meeting comes after a conference Friday in Faro, by the Embassy of Morocco in Lisbon in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) and the University of the Algarve on the theme "Morocco, a tourist destination close and complementary".
