De Nederlandse Instituut in Marokko (NIMAR), in partnership with the Council for the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), announces the second edition of its monthly literary series, Café Littéraire. This initiative celebrates the voices and stories of Moroccan-Dutch literary figures.
This month’s event features Chafina Bendahman, a passionate author and cultural entrepreneur dedicated to highlighting untold stories and fostering connections between cultures. As the founder of ROSE Stories, Chafina has made it her mission to champion inclusive and inspiring narratives. Through projects like Milk & Dates and Bedtime Stories for Rebellious Girls: 100 Extraordinary Dutch Women, she encourages reflection, recognition, and meaningful dialogue among communities.
Since its inception in 2014, ROSE Stories has been producing works by bicultural talents across various artistic platforms, including theater, film, and literature. Chafina, who began her career as a screenwriter and later worked as an editor for major Dutch broadcasters on shows like Kassa! and De Wereld Draait Door, has long been an advocate for diversity and inclusion in the arts.
Chafina’s literary and cultural contributions resonate deeply with audiences in both the Netherlands and Morocco, making her a fitting guest to inspire discussions on intercultural dialogue. This session will also explore the challenges and opportunities in the cultural sector, focusing on the themes of diversity and inclusion.
This partnership between NIMAR and CCME promotes their shared commitment to celebrating the creativity and cultural contributions of the Moroccan diaspora. The Café Littéraire series provides a platform for connecting communities through storytelling, offering audiences the chance to engage directly with renowned authors and thinkers.
