Morocco and China expand bilateral cooperation

Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, visited Morocco for a three-day official visit. He met King Mohamed VI on Tuesday and held separate meetings with Prime Minister Benkirane and President of the Chamber of Representatives Alami on Monday.

He also met with Biadilla, president of the Senate of Morocco.

Zhengsheng said that China will expand practical cooperation with Morocco in various areas to improve the relationships and ties between his country and Morocco and reaffirmed China's commitment to its ties with Morocco.

He noted that China and Morocco have enjoyed good cooperation in the areas of politics, economy and people-to- people exchanges since they set up diplomatic relationship 56 years ago. He also expressed China's willingness to enhance political mutual trust with Morocco and keep high level exchanges frequent between the two countries. The official also promised to encourage more Chinese companies to invest in the kingdom

Describing Morocco as a vital partner in Africa and the Arab world, Yu called for the two countries to jointly push forward the China-Africa and China-Arab cooperation and continuously cooperate in maintaining regional peace and stability, as well as fighting terrorism.

Morocco, on the other hand, expressed its desire to enhance exchanges between the Moroccan and Chinese parliaments and conduct close coordination with China on regional and international affairs and promote sustainable and comprehensive development of ties between Morocco and China.

King Mohamed VI pledged close cooperation with China in the fields of politics, economy, culture and education.
