Moroccans lead Spain's resident foreign communities in 2024 Featured

The annual Spanish population report from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) indicates Moroccans will be the country's largest resident foreign community in 2024.

In January of the current year, 920,693 Moroccans were residents in Spain, which represents an increase of approximately 26,000 in comparison with 2023. Moroccans and their families represent over 14% of the total number of immigrants, ahead of Romanians (9.5%) and Colombians (8.9%).

According to the (INE), the country's population is nearly 49 million, while migrant residents in Spain represent more than 6.5 million, which is 12% of the overall population.
