Rabat: SIEL 2024 kicks off with a varied and impressive programme

The 29th edition of the International Book and Publishing Fair (SIEL) was officially opened on Thursday 9 May 2024 at the Espace OLM Souissi in Rabat by the Head of Government, Mr Aziz Akhannouch, and Mr Mehdi Bensaid, Minister for Youth, Culture and Communication.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Driss El Yazami, President of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), greeted the delegation of government representatives and senior officials at the Council's pavilion, which is shared this year with six other Moroccan institutions, namely the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) and the Institution of the Mediator of the Kingdom (IMR), the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA), the Competition Council (CC), the National Authority for Probity, Prevention and the Fight against Corruption (INPPLC), and the National Commission for the Supervision of Personal Data Protection (CNDP).

This will be the fifteenth year in which the CCME has taken part in SIEL, a major national cultural and educational event and an opportunity for the Council to meet the Moroccan community from all over the world presenting our latest publications and achievements. The event also provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the issue of migration through panel discussions, screenings of movies and the publications written by Moroccans from all over the world.

Under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, in partnership with the Rabat- Salé- Kénitra Region and the Wilaya of Rabat- Salé- Kénitra, is hosting the 29th edition of SIEL from 10 to 19 May 2024 in Rabat.

The CCME website and its official Facebook and Instagram accounts will be sharing the highlights of this year's event.
