The spokesperson of the Royal Palace announces, with immense sadness and deep sorrow, the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Latifa, may God have mercy on her, on this Saturday, 22 Dhu al-Hijjah 1445 AH corresponding to June 29, 2024. She was the wife of the late His Majesty King Hassan II, may God rest his soul, and the mother of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist and preserve him, and Their Royal Highnesses the Princes and Princesses.

In announcing this painful loss, we pray to the Almighty to surround the lamented deceased with His infinite mercy, divine grace, and to welcome her into His vast paradise. We also pray for the long life of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God preserve and perpetuate His glory.

We belong to God and to Him we shall return."
