The capital of France will be hosting its 30th "Maghreb des livres" from June 1 to 2, 2024. The cultural event is being organised with support from the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME).
The 30th edition will feature the contributions of some one hundred authors, lectures, signings and conferences, as well as some fifteen round tables and exchanges on literature and culture in both France and the Maghreb and the Mediterranean region.
This year's event also includes a symposium on ‘The landing of the African armies in 1944’, attended by Driss El Yazami, Chairman of the CCME, historian Mustapha Bouaziz and the sociologist Issa Kadri.
Mr Aomar Boum, Anthropologist and Professor in California at UCLA, will be presenting (The last dance) alongside his daughter, Magdalene Boum Mendoza, who has illustrated the story, with the participation of Mr Driss Yazami.
Several Moroccan and writers of Moroccan origin are also participating in this year's Maghreb des livres event.
