Anass Bari, Moroccan Artificial Intelligence researcher awarded by the NYU Featured

Anasse Bari, a Moroccan professor and artificial intelligence researcher, has been honoured, wednesday 5th february , the 2025 by New York University (NYU) in recognition of his commitment to education and research.

He has been awarded the Martin Luther King Faculty Award for 2025,

The university website states that this award recognises professors who, in their work and research, demonstrate leadership and commitment to the values of justice and equity advocated by the American civil rights activist.

Anass Bari is the head of "predictive" analytics and artificial intelligence lab at the same university. According to the university's president, "He has supervised research teams to build AI tools dedicated to healthcare, climate change, disinformation and pandemic preparedness".

Mr Bari said at a ceremony held on Wednesday at the New York University that the award reminds us how important it is to ‘serve our communities’ by keeping in mind the noble values of equity and justice.

In a statement to MAP, he expressed his pride at being awarded such a prize, which also constitutes for him a recognition of the very values of his country of origin, Morocco.
