HM King Mohammed VI delivered, on Monday, a speech to the Nation on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the Glorious Green March.

The Moroccan religious model can be the clue for the birth of trust and confidence between the Muslim community and the Western world, said Mr Abdellah Boussouf, the Secretary General of the Council of the Moroccan Community living Abroad (CCME).

The ambassador, who has been Morocco’s representative at UNESCO since 2011, is now the first Arab, African, and Muslim woman to head this UN body. Alaoui will serve as the president of the 39th General Conference for the term 2017-2019, representing the 195 member states of UNESCO.

Mr. Abdellah Boussouf, Secretary General of the Council of the Moroccan Community living Abroad (CCME), actively participated to the "American peace caravan" held on 24 and 25 October 2017 in Rabat.

The Daniel Pearl 2017 Award for Courage and Integrity in Journalism was awarded to Washington Post’s international correspondent Souad Mekhennet, who became the first Muslim woman to receive this prestigious award, the Chicago Journalists Association (CJA) recently announced. The award will be handed over to Souad Mekhennet on November 10, at the 78th annual dinner of the CJA.

 

UNESCO executives chose Audrey Azoulay of France as the next head of the United Nations' cultural agency on Friday 13 October 2017, to replace outgoing Director-General Irina Bokova.

The International Center for Law and Religious Studies of the State of Utah held its 24th session, from 1 to 3 October 2017, on the subject "Religion and Religious Freedom in a Changing World" .

The Grand Mosque Mohammed VI of Saint-Étienne (France) hosts since Sunday 17 September 2017, a pictural exhibition on living together, in partnership with the Moroccan Jewish Museum of Casablanca.

The Global Hope Coalition awarded here, on Monday 18 September 2017, the Special Recognition Award for Leadership in the promotion of tolerance and cross-cultural rapprochement to HM King Mohammed VI "for the visionary leadership of the Sovereign in promoting harmony between different cultures both in Morocco and on the international scene".

A  stele in remembrance of the Moroccan soldiers who fought during the Battle of the Marne in 1914, was inaugurated Saturday, September 16, 2017 in the municipality of Chauconin-Neufmontiers (Paris region). Several Moroccan and French dignitaries attended the commemoration.
