Skill-UP 24, the 6th edition of the Summer University in Aeronautics, is taking place at the Ecole Supérieure de Technologie in Laayoune, with Moroccan and foreign academics and engineers. As well as transferring knowledge and developing new skills and expertise, the aim of this new initiative is to foster the emergence of a forum for exchanges between the elderly and people with physical or mental disabilities.
Organised by EMAN Aerospace, Ibn Zohr University and the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), this academic event aims to provide advanced knowledge and skills for students, teacher-researchers, engineers, technicians and businessmen who wish to deepen or strengthen their knowledge and skills in the various branches of aeronautics.
The event aims to encourage cooperation between academic and economic players in the Moroccan aeronautics sector, along with Moroccan talent operating in the industry abroad.
Its goal is to reinforce the expertise of engineers and research students in order to make them more familiar with the latest technological developments in the aerospace sector," said Rachid Medrek, President of EMAN Aerospace.
This event also features workshops on artificial intelligence in the field of aeronautics led by Moroccan experts abroad for university lecturers and students, added Mr Medrek.
He also stressed the catalysing role played by the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) in mobilising Moroccan talent from all over the world and giving their initiatives a boost, given the talents and expertise of the Moroccan community abroad.
In this regard, he stressed the need to take into account the significant changes that the Moroccan diaspora has undergone in recent decades, in particular the increase in the number of women within this community along with the emerging of a new generation born and raised in the countries of the diaspora.
He went on, emphasising the central part played by local communities, and in particular the regions, in reinforcing the contribution of Moroccans to local and regional development.
For his part, Khalid El Mrabet, Special Advisor to the President of the CCME, referred to the memorandum of agreement signed between the CMMC and the Association of Moroccan Regions in October 2023, which called for the establishment of regional mechanisms designed to make it easier for Moroccan talents from all over the world to contribute to the regions' development, particularly in the sectors targeted by the regional development plan.
This event's schedule features workshops on artificial intelligence in the aeronautics industry, as well as visits to industrial units and training sessions for students, teacher-researchers, engineers, technicians and corporate executives.
"Skill Up-Aero 2024 will go on with a range of themes linked to aviation development, to the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the aeronautics industry, management and electronics in aviation, and management of quality in the aeronautics industry.
